The Bridgeport and Port Jefferson Ferry Company carries passengers and vehicles to and from Port Jefferson, Long Island to Bridgeport, Connecticut. There are three ferries available and you may ride a bicycle, drive your vehicle, or walk onto any one of them.

Davis Park Ferry Co., operates daily service to Davis Park and Watch Hill, Fire Island. Davis Park is a community and a public beach operated by the town of Brookhaven [www.Brookhaven.org]. Watch Hill is a part of the National Park Service’s Fire Island National Seashore.

Brookhaven Calabro Airport

The Town of Brookhaven’s Division of General Aviation operates and maintains the Brookhaven Calabro Airport. Located on 600 acres in Shirley, New York, this municipal facility handles more than 135,000 annual aircraft operations (take-offs and landings).

The Airport has two runways: Runway 6-24 is 4,200 feet long and 100 feet wide; Runway 15-33 is 4,255 feet long and 150 feet wide.  Both runways are fully lighted.  Runway 6-24 is also equipped with an Instrument Landing System, (ILS) maintained by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).  There are more than 200 aircraft based at Brookhaven Calabro Airport.  The Town has approximately 50 paved aircraft tie-down pads at the Airport.

The Long Island Rail Road or LIRR is a commuter rail system serving the length of Long Island, New York. It is the busiest commuter railroad in North America, serving about 83 million passengers each year.

The rail road operates three branches that service the Town of Brookhaven. The Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma and Speonk branches operate regular train service to and from New York City's Penn Station. Beach goers can take the train to Patchogue and walk across the street to the Davis Park Ferry which will transport you to Fire Island.
